Free Spirit use high modulus Japanese carbons of 40t to ensure rods are very light for use all day but also very strong to cope with the demands of the modern match angler and the ever increasing size of fish being caught on commercials. Power builds up steadily from the quiver tip through the main rod to control carp from hooking to landing and helps to ensure these are banked quickly.
The use of fine carbons also allows us to keep the handle lengths shorter than is conventional but still produce a rod that is extremely light and well balanced. The rods are supplied with 3 push in quiver tips, 2 carbon and one glass that are a little shorter at 540mm long. This makes for a lower diameter of both the quiver tip and the top section joint where the quiver is pushed in – meaning better overall balance and critically no flat spots or ‘elbow’ where the solid quiver tip section joins the hollow top section. Casting is therefore more fluid and transfer of power down the rod better to aid fish playing.
Standard models are designed for the majority of commercial waters and available in lengths of 9’, 10’ and 11’ with the BW (Big Water) models offered in 11’ and 12’ with added power for use on larger waters where longer casting is required or when you expect to encounter bigger carp. The BW models feature longer handles for better casting leverage.
Furnished with Fuji VSS reel seats and ‘A’ Grade cork rear handle, EVA fore-grip and stainless steel collars and butt caps.
B W models feature slightly longer handles to aid distance casting.
